Angular Deviation and Assembly Quality
The angular alignment between end fittings affects the insulator's mechanical performance and assembly with other line hardware. Excessive angular deviation creates bending moments when the insulator is loaded in tension, potentially reducing its effective strength. Both IEC 60383 (ceramic) and IEC 61109 (composite) specify maximum allowable angular deviation.
